Yeah, I've seen that stuff happen too many times. As for the narrow lanes at ASC, I agree and that's why I go to Iron Sights instead. Much more room over there.

IMO, it's not the lanes being narrow. It's people not being briefed on what to expect at an indoor range. I blame this on the people who took these ladies to the range.

They should've told them: Wear a shirt/jacket/sweater that protects the puppies, don't wear heels, expect to be startled by loud noises, expect to get hit by brass, and if anything goes wrong, put the gun down pointed downrange.

They should also make sure the ladies get familiarized with the gun before shooting it.

I agree. Iron Sights would be my regular indoor range if it weren't so far north.

Werd on this! I actually want to introduce my wife to shooting rifles and handguns, but I first want to make sure she knows what to expect and do whenever we go to the range.

Ah, this reminds me of one time when I went to Insight Shooting Range at Artesia. There was a woman there with her boyfriend and she was wearing a cocktail dress!

The range is not a club. At least not the dancing type.

I just got back from Ironsights. I was in the lane right next to another Calgunner. I even did a couple rapid fires with my AR, and it was all okay. I did notice other shooters looking with a look on their face. As I walked out, three guys that were renting guns asked me if I knew when I'd be done renting the M4. I laughed and said it was mine and they went and apologized.

Oh I did. It wasn't a laugh of arrogance, it was a laugh of humility. I was proud of Jasmin (my rifle's name). She treated me well.

Cryptkeeper nice meeting up with you and your dad at Iron Sights. It was nice to have a fellow Calgunner with an AR that got to run in his new hunny at the same time I got to run a few rounds with my virgin AR. I'm glad to see you had a great time with yours. I sure had fun with mine.

Oh and sorry I didn't catch your or your fathers name...

ASC is only 25yds eh? Damn that's really dang close for an AR. I am in Mission Valley near Friars so I think that place is pretty close to me. I should cruise out to that South Bay Rod & Gun Club. Its probably 30 minutes out and has longer distance. I haven't been to a single range in SD though, gotta see whats up.

They technically do their job in that the pins don't roll and cant be slid out with a punch (bullet, whatever). But some say they shouldn't/aren't necessary if you have the proper hammer/trigger spring installed and installed correctly.

Still, I have them as well
