I'm not sure. I can't find the original Roberti-Roos list of '89, not sure if "SKS w/detachable magazine" was on it in 1989 or was added later.

SB23 'by features' categorizing of Type III AWs has largely eliminated 'need' to do this.

Why do I think they aren't doing it? Well, because obviously their argument is alot stronger with a blind roll pin, and why I put one back in mine. Does that mean it won't pass with a hidden set screw that is secure? No, just that Vulcan went with a pin. I bet Shoeless Ventures never thought a pin would pass, so they spent alot of time and resources doing the closed magwell and internal mag of the FAB10... Had they known it would fly I bet the Fab would be just like the Vulcan today.

The whole "series" argument is very open to debate, but who wants to debate, I'm not a Billion dollar corporation like the NRA that could afford to lose.

I guess we should all buy plenty of Vulcan's and then start a letter writting campaign to get them added to the list...

Hopefully, a new supreme court could someday uphold the 2nd Ammendment in California. I do not believe it will happen without outside interference.

The funniest thing about all of this is that my legal M1 Garand just as deadly, my Mini-14 shoots the same bullets just as fast, and a trained bad guy could do just as much damage with a lever action Marlin if he had a mind to.

I am convinced that the only purpose for these laws is to punish gunowners for not being Democrats.

But, as Bill advocates, know the law and stay legal. Good advice.

Yep, they'll be after the M1/M1As next. Then "tactical shotguns".... Then.....

I don't think it's really so much Democrat/Republican, but the fact that we in Cali have so many weirdos that think that anyone with a gun is a serial killer or freeway sniper waiting to happen, thanks to the wonderful media coverage these days.

I like the AR platform, but the main reason every new guy that comes to the board wants one is because they have been banned. IIRC .50BMG wasn't flying off the shelves like they would have you believe, but sales really increased once they proposed the ban.

I think the lesson here is, if you live in Cali and if you don't want to miss the boat buy what you want while you can, keep up with what's getting banned and keep a savings acct or credit card ready for those "emergencies".
