    No.

The Camp 45 magazine does not go in the pistol grip like a 1911. It uses a 1911 magazine in a magazine well in front of the trigger assembly like the M1 Carbine or Ruger PC9 Carbine.

The pistol grip and the folding/telescoping stock are restricted features on semi-auto centerfire rifles that do not have a fixed magazine. [PC 30515(a)(1)(A)&(C)]

In order to be CA legal the firearm will need to be modified so that it operates using a fixed magazine or the restricted features need to be modified so that they are no longer restricted features (grip wrap, fixed stock).
In addition, if the folding/telecoping stock remains functional, then in order to be CA legal, the overall length needs to be 30" or longer with the stock folded/collapsed.

Even if it were in the grip, like an Uzi, it doesn't remove the "featureness" of the pistol grip. It still counts as a feature.

I think you're conflating handgun AW laws with rifle.

Magazine in the grip doesn't make a handgun an AW, such as the UZI or B&T, while outside the grip does - such as the Ruger Charger. However the presence of a PG on a semi-centerfire rifle that "drops mags" makes it an AW.

BTW, the Choate stock has a lot of wiggle to it and lousy cheek weld. I have a Marlin Camp 9, it's usually in OR where I could put it in the Choate. I'd rather it stay in the factory stock. Same with an old Inland M1.
