    Flash Hider w/Blast Deflector Legal?

Hey Calguns. I have a 14.7 upper with a pinned and welded AAC FH. My plan is to use this upper on a fixed mag rifle but wanted to ask if installing a blast deflector on the FH is legal for a featureless configuration.
My first reaction is no, but then I've been wrong on other things before...
And if a reason was that its not legal because the blast deflector can be easily twisted off and expose FH, a thread protector can also be easily removed and a FH installed (although w/a wrench).
I did a search on here and didn't see this subject discussed. Let me know what y'all think. Thanks.

Here's a pic (from brownells) of what that FH w/blast deflector would look like:

I say no. Still have a FH ATTACHED to the rifle and then covered with something doesn’t change it from not being a FH.
Having a thread protector and then installing a FH doesn’t mean it’s ok to just cover one.
Featureless configuration is very straight forward. Don’t over think it or try work arounds.

Read the raW flowchart. Fixed mag can have features.

No, but muzzle brake with flash diffuser is legal on featureless.

        223556 is correct.

That is a cool looking blast deflector.

Just in case there is confusion about the OP wording... fixed mag and featureless are two different methods of compliance. Here is a flow chart from Michel & Associates you can follow for build questions.

The best starting point on knowing how to make your AR-15 rifle California legal. The new "Assault Weapons" Quick Reference Guide with Flow Chart is available for download. It addresses "Bullet Button Assault Weapons", and more importantly, details five options on how to stay out of trouble. Learn more before July!

But basically, you can have features like a flash suppressor on fixed mag, but not featureless. And conversely, you can have a normal mag release and normal capacity magazines on featureless rifles, but not fixed mag.

          Hope that helps!

Note the emphasis I added. So Sparrow Dynamics nailed it.

Assuming the pinned FH meets the 16" barrel length requirement.

Indeed, I'm looking at two methods of compliance.

Thanks for the responses! I'll stick with my original plan of going fixed mag configuration.

That blast deflector is an ADVANCED ARMAMENT AR-15 Blastout Muzzle Device 51T. Not cheap at almost 140 bucs from Brownells.

10-4. 16" barrel requirements are met with the pinned and welded FH.
