    Monte Carlo AR-rifle?

I know what a Monte Carlo stock is, on a bolt action rifle. But what the heck is an AR15 Monte Carlo stock?

And is there an option for a Schnabel fore end?
When am I going to see Dragunov OLLs for sale??

      Similar concept to Para-FAL:

I don't think anyone makes a Schnabel forend for an AR-15.

Just install your AFG backwards = Schnabel forend.

I like the ARES but on their site when you click to see rifle options there's no products. They have a pistol version with a lupara style grip that is not appealing to me. That's the only one on there I see. I can't find any of them in any configuration for sale though and haven't seen them in a long time.

I wish there were more non-pistol grip semi-auto rifles out there. They'll have a lot harder of a time banning them. I don't think anyone's gonna make any at this point though because there's no way to compete with the price point of the AR-15s being so cheap now in free states.

Wow, did they stop making SCR lowers!?
I just went to their website and that page is blank.

I think Ares sold the design to Fightlite, who stopped making rifle lowers and is apparently focused on the SCR pistols.

No idea what the status is and your guess is as good as mine, but yep, the site has none listed anymore. Very strange.

After flightlight picked up the scr, the price for just the lower shot up to 600ish. People can buy/build a decent featureless ar for that price these days.

AFAIK, they are getting ready to post some and probably ship out to Grabagun, Brownell's, etc... After I bought a couple including one that was after Fightlite took over, I saw them go in and out of stock at Graba and Brownells often for a year. If you follow them on Insta you can see the new stuff they are working on. IMHO, there's a chance that when the Monte's do come back, they will be wood stocks. There is not a huge difference between the Sporter and the Monte that they were shipping out in the beginning. They did discontinue the original Monte at least temporarily. Wood is coming out soon and I dunno what else.

The price stayed right around $450-$465 at the places I saw them in-stock at.

I don't know if there is a better deal than Graba, but IIRC I got both of mine there. Ares gen2 Sporter, Fightlite Monte. Maybe got the Ares a little less like $430.

                            Ares renamed itself to Fightlite.

The manufacturer of the SCR rifle and MCR belt feed system for M4 style rifles, ARES Defense Systems, is changing its name to FightLite Industries to more accurately reflect their current product line-up as well as upcoming additions to the line.Geoffery Herring, the President and CEO of the company, said: ” Since launching our company almost two decades ago, we’ve introduced and delivered many game-changing products to both civilian and military shooters alike.” Herring went on to say ” We’ve set new standards along the way with high-performance products such as our patented MCR belt-feed system for the M4, our patented drop-in GXS gas piston kit and our universal and patented ARES SCR to name a few.We have some new groundbreaking product announcements coming up and we’re really excited about what we;re getting ready to bring to market in both the civilian and military marketplaces”The company will make the transition to the new FightLite brand by the end of 2016 and will continue to service spare parts, service, and manufacturer support for products built by ARES Defense. We will be keeping a close eye on what FightLite will be bringing to the table shortly, with a name change after almost two decades of reputation I expect the new products to pretty impressive.Click HERE to visit ARES’s website.

Here's mine, and I just talked to Fightlite's Delaine a week ago or so, and she said both stock styles are on back-order, and should be back in stock soon (not sure about wood vs synthetic etc?).
