    Reversed AR Button Safety?

Does anyone know if there is a reversed button safety for the AR?

I know about the "ELFTMANN TACTICAL PUSH BUTTON AMBI SPEED SAFETY" and its copies. All these fire when you move the safety to the right side of the gun.

I'm looking for a safety that fires when you move the safety to the left. Why? Because it would work better with fin grips/sparrowgrip/etc. Kinda like a Bellini shotgun safety.

    Thanks in advance!

not a push button but im a fan of the Radian Talon safety. Also the Sparrow Dynamics ambi safety looks really promising and i like that you can reverse the levers

With a featureless grip like ours, the push button will be more difficult to deal with than a normal ambi safety.

If you want an easy to use safety that is truly ambi and specifically designed for featureless, but works equally well on a normal rifle... Check out this review of our safety from GunGuyTV. He does a good job showing how our unique design works great with featureless grips. Skip to 4:50 to watch.

Thanks for all the answers but I guess I have no quick solution. Maybe have a gunsmith drill a hole on the other side of the receiver and grip.

I already have two sparrow grips and it looks like I have to order your safety as well.

Feed back - (FYI... I have small hands.. don't worry they makes my "guns" look bigger)

Can you make a grip with more angled/smaller? maybe modular?

I would also prefer to have the little space open (below the rear takedown pin) - cut triangle top part of the grip.

Push safety works pretty great on them ar... It's base off of most standard rifle. However it's faster than the standard selector safety switch. But it's not going to look like a ar selector to but if you want to be a bit different than it's ok to installed one.

For featureless a simple ambi safety is probably the best way to go.

+1 for sparrows safety. Works great in conjunction with their grip. I’m a lefty and use it in reverse, so I flip it forward with my trigger finger to fire then back down to put it back on safe.

That one looks nice, but the OP was looking for a push button style that is reversible.

Simple ambi safeties certainly help with featureless, but are not the best way to go for all. You can reach them, but not easily. Ambi safeties where you can install the levers 180 degrees are better because it makes them easier to reach with your index finger, but it is still a stretch and a little awkward. Our safety levers can be installed in a ways others can’t. We really wanted to help featureless rifle owners be able to configure the safety to best fit their needs and their grip Sparrow. I have mine set up like a CZ Scorpion and it is very fast and natural to use.

Skip to 4:50 on this review video where Joel explains why it is unique and why it works great for featureless...

Realizing some people may like it inverted and that and we all have different hand and body shapes and preferences ... I don't quite see how reversing the direction of the safety would make things any better than a simple ambi safety.

For the regular ambi safety on a featureless grip (be that a sparrow-type, fin-type or other variations like Hera or Thordsen), switching to FIRE-with-Thumb and SAFE-with-Index finger works well and retains the original configuration, which I think is important too.
