    Purchasing Ammo

Has anyone purchased .223 ammo from gunbrokers.com? Was wondering if there would be any complication have ammo shipped to socal. Also is there any sites or store to purchase ammo for cheap?

It depends on what city/county you are in, and what the sellers rules are. Some counties have different laws regarding mail order ammo, and some sellers won't ship to some areas.

AIM Surplus has good prices on some ammo, if you buy a case at a time. But like many of the big stores, there are parts of CA they won't ship ammo to.

I just received my shipment of 223 from CTD. The price was decent and they ship to San Diego every time.

+ 1 on AIM surplus. I just received my case of guat .223 a few minutes ago.
Like TheMan said though it depends on the county you live in but even then some still ship because they know they will not get in trouble.

I've been a huge fan of ammoman.com Free shipping and never a problem on delivery. Been buying 9mm for a few years and just recently started ordering .223. Prices seem fair and everything's been high quality.

J & G Sales in Arizona is a good place to buy ammo. They are closer to California than most other out of state ammo dealers, so shipping is cheaper and faster.

Right now it looks like the only surplus .223 they have is the Radway Green stuff. This might be the ammo that everybody says is loaded "weak", but I'm not sure.

biggest problem with RG is the steel core, which limits the amount of ranges you can shoot from.

Get a quote from both...for me, AIM has always been cheaper even after shipping is figured in.

Radway looses maybe 100 fps through either my car or 20" barrel...a little less velocity v. US surplus with the SS109 bullet. Not a round I'd considered "loaded weak"
