Novekse N6 (308) Lower - What Mags Fit?

I have had a Noveske N6 (308) lower around here forever, and thought about building it, but am not sure what mags will or will not fit. Can anyone speak to that? With magazine freedom here, I thought about resurrecting this project and shoot 6.5 x 47 Lapuas out of it.

Ok, so it looks like maybe I was wrong. If you read the fitment at primary arms for their standard .308AR M118 mags (LR/SR), it does list the Noveske Gen III N6.

Since it shows the M118 mag fitting, there's no reason the standard (non-M118) mags wouldn't as well.

You were correct the first time, Noveske N6 takes AR-10B mags and will not take the P-Mags that you linked. Here is a complete description of rifles that the P-mag will not fit (at the bottom), it lists Noveske N-6.

Noveske N6 will only work with Armalite 10B mags or modified M14 mags. The way to get around it in order to use P-mags, which I do not recommend, would be to Dremel the mag well to fit P-Mags, use the Armalite 10A lower parts kit and use Armalite 10A style upper or remove the shelf from a 10B upper.

I definitely have an AR-10B, so have to use mags for that, which are the straight metal ones. I ordered some.

Make sure that you get the AR-10B bolt stop (if I were you I would get the AR-10B LPK from Armalite) and also the AR-10B upper. Here is the written version of differences:

I am pretty sure I have the right parts kit, and the bolt stop in the kit (Armalite brand) looks to be the right one. The kit is the old Armalite part # EA6085.

The upper receiver is Armalite, even though it has no markings on it. It was advertised as Armalite. It is somewhat unique in that it has no forward assist, something seen with earlier Armalite uppers. It fits onto my Noveske N6 lower just fine. Mags I have fit fine as well. The Armalite link you sent confirms everything I have is Armalite AR10b. I think I am good to go.

Now to decide on cartridge to use!

This used to be true but is no longer the case, as of about 2.5/3 years ago when Noveske released their N6 Gen3 rifles. Those were designed to utilize the LR308/SR25 pattern magazines that even Armalite themselves changed to.

You are correct, I stand corrected, they did change to SR-25 magwells, but that would be generation 3 lowers. However, it still sounds like the OP has one of the older models (as I do) that take the Armalite mags.
