Are all buffer tubes created equal?

Weakest are the extruded buffer extensions

Mil-spec buffer extensions are forged (Colt, LMT, etc)

Supposedly the strongest are impact extruded buffer extensions (vltor)

Only thing I can share is that in my experience , the cheaper AR buffer kits can have the threads damaged/cross threaded easily. For that reason alone ive kept all my buffer tubes/springs to Vltor/KAC/Gieselle line.

These days it seems that certain parts are milspec in dimensions only, not quality

Strike Ind. quality is fine. Not mil spec, not the best, but I have not heard of quality problems.

Best is forged 7075, many if not most private market tubes are likely 6061.

I don't see many reports of failed tubes.
