FAL charging handle

Hello,
I fired 200 rounds through my FAL today and when I got home I noticed my charging handle refuses to seat all the way, also tried to take off the charging handle and it wouldn't come off. Anything I can do?

the part behind the handle is missing...it operates the bolt.latches on to it

You're missing the charging handle T-nut and detent pin. It must have flown off during recoil and wasn't securely pinned to the charging handle.

Make sure the detent pin is securely locking in the "T-nut".

With the T-nut and pin missing there's no good reason why the charging handle should not be able to come off.

Did you remove them yourself or is that how it looked after shooting?
