I have the Kali Key. Its alright for what it is. Just too cheap to pony up for a bolt action conversion or a Tikka Varmint.

No money, just your time to pull the handguard, unscrew the gas block, punch the gas tube pin, remove the gas tube, turn the gas block to cap the hole, and reassemble.

If you're so inclined, an upgrade would be a side charging upper receiver and bcg. I bought one for $120, but it's not at all necessary as the standard charging handle works just fine.

The kalikey is a rear charging handle. Your rifle already has one. Pulling the gas tube and capping the gas port costs you nothing!

Charging from the rear forces you to move your head every time you cycle the action.

If you cannot pull the gas tube yourself then something like the kalikey might be justified, however, I'm confident that most of you capable of removing the gas tube and blocking the gas port.

To take this concept to something more ergonomic, I would suggest the side charging upper. A complete side charging upper receiver costs $120.

You would need to be able to remove your handguard and barrel, and reassemble them on the new upper receiver. If you have a vise, and a big adjustable wrench, you can do it.

Having used rear charging and side charging, there's no contest, I choose the side charging!
