sticking BCG

Ok, so I intalled my Hellfire fixed mag kit. When done I noticed that the BCG does not go forward into battery after pulling back on charging handle and letting go, it just says where it is. I originally thought that it has something to do with the Hellfighter kit so I took it off and put back OE. Same thing, it sticks.
What I have notices is that when the Safety is on the BCG sticks. When the Safety is OFF, everything is just fine. I don't understand why. I am not that AR15 Savy, it is still new to me.

Stupid question but I have to ask, are you trying to close the bolt on an empty mag?

Either with or without a magazine it is still the same. Closing the bolt on an empty magazine is bad? Like I said J am new to the AR platform and have a lot to learn.

Yes it is lubed. But i will completely take apart, clean, lube and assemble and see what happens.

Seems odd that the safety is dictating whether or not the bolt sticks. Is the safety working properly?

Had you ever used the gun before installing the hellfire kit? Was it working properly before the install?

Its not bad. I think what he was getting at regarding closing the bolt on an empty magazine is that the bolt should stay open on an empty mag. When the mag is empty, the follower pushes up on the bolt release and holds the bolt open.

Well the Hellfighter kit you replace the bolt catch with a new one which doesn’t hold the bolt back on an empty magazine.

Are you releasing the charging handle or are you riding it forward?
