    Anyone try these cheap handguards?

Came across these handguards and they seem like a good deal. Been thinking about changing up my 16" BCM. Has anyone tried these or heard anything good or bad?

most cheap hand guards work fine. Typically you'll have to deal with sharper edges than anything but usually everything accessory mounts to it fine.

Tons out there. Monstrum Tactical as well. Or Davidson Defense. Or PSA stuff.

Looks like a good price. Not a lot to go wrong with these.
What kind of HG and gas block do you have now?
Do you have the tools already to mount a barrel?
This one takes a std A2 nut wrench and will need to be timed with the gas tube.
Do you have MLOK accessories already?

Below is a budget 15" keymod HG on a rifle length barrel with low profile block that I built that I think looks 21st century and is light weight for a free float vs older technology.

I have magpul moe handguards with a standard front sight post/gas block. I figure I'll probably have to get a low profile gas block to fit under a free float hand guard (had to do that on another build).

I don't have any m lovk accessories now but the only thing I run on this rifle now is a AFG so getting a different grip/handstop for m lock is no big deal.

              I have this:

These have an internal heat shield, you can wrap your hand completely around it, it is polymer, light as a feather and won't cut your hand or feel uncomfortable.

The cheapest ar15 handguard I like it matrix arms from joeboboutfitters. The 15in rail is like 65.00. It's clean, super easy to install and looks great.

I like the Aim Sports ones that Primary Arms carries.

Don't get the ones that uses screws to secure the hanguard to the barrel nut. The handguard will not stay concentric to the barrel. Get the ones that clamp the barrel nut like the aim sports.

Those get really great reviews for being so inexpensive. What are you using or would recommend for a low profile gas block? A couple of the reviewers were biatching about the handguards are very slim and that a lot of low profile blocks won't work. I saw one guy recommended using a Faxon .625 Ultra-Low Profile Block so will probably get a couple. Was concerned because there's no Anti-Rotation Tabs but according to Users and Matrix, that's a non-issue.

I just ordered one each of the Matrix Foxtrot 11" and 13" from JoeBob's - at only 8.8oz/10.4oz, made in the USA and less than $60 each shipped, they seem like a screaming deal!

I use the Charlie from matrix arms and to my knowledge they have tabs the lock into the upper. I've used troy low profile gas blocks with no problem. I usually get then on sale.
