VG6 gamma, Midwest Industries 2 chamber brakes are good and under $100. But realize muzzle brake will not be indoor range friendly to neighbors in adjacent lanes

I would just use the thread protector. Muzzle brakes are only good for making excessive noise!

Just ordered this for an AR build.

Didn't want a loud aggressive MB. I have several similar brakes, and they seem to work well enough without blowing the neighboring bench away.

I have the Strike Industries JCOMP V2 on several rifles and am very happy with it, especially for $30.

The VG6 Gamma is a great choice for a brake. I have two, but they're $80 and I can't say it's $50 better than the JCOMP.

I feel the JCOMP directs the blast forward more than the VG6 which blasts sideways, but really, in a 5.56... not really a big issue. Unless you're at a range with no baffles between stalls, and then you'll get some annoyed looks.

Both do a good job of keeping the rifle a bit flatter between shots.

Why pay more then 20 bucks for a brake? Like putting bright ribbon on a jackass (LOL)

Give CNC Warrior a look. They make a good selection of high quality brakes of various types at decent prices.

FYI. JCOMP advertises flash reduction so it wouldn't be kosher as a CA compliant featureless muzzle device

"Strike Industries JCOMP V2 Barrel Muzzle Brake*for impressive muzzle rise and flash reduction.".

I’ve bought quite a few CNC Warrior products, mainly AK parts and most recently a finished Galil receiver and an AK folding tube stock. Really nice stuff.
