Aero Precision light weight scope mount.. torque setting?

I bought this scope mount and the package didn't contain any instruction. Searching the web,I have seen 2 different torque values for scope base and scope rings. 15 vs 25 inch pounds..

does anyone know which is the correct one?

I hated that thing. The clam shell style rings moved zero anytime the weapon was dropped. I didnt drop it much, just that one time, and it was on a wood floor.

This is the reply I got from Aero Precision

"...to mount your scope place the mount on your rifle and tighten the rail mount screws remove the screws on the rings place your scope in the ring and secure it with the ring mount and screws snug but so you can still adjust and level your scope. once the scope is level torque the ring screws to 15 in lbs you can then either adjust the base to a better position on the rifle or tighten it down. once the mount and scope are where you want them tighten the rail mount screws 25 in lbs".

I have the same mount. Torqued the rings at 20 inch lbs and base at 25 or 30. Working just fine with a PA 1-6 optic.

If you use the included wrench, you won't overtorque it. If you put too much, you can crack the clamps. I've seen pictures some guy posted.

Good to know. I am planning for identical setup. I usually blue loctite scope base. Did you use loctite on scope rings?

i just use blue loctite to compensate for not having an inch pound torque wrench.

                  No loctite or anything else.

                      Finished my install last night.

I had to reposition the scope a few times because of rotational change as scope rings were being tightened. I ultimately found the sweet spot (start off with about 20 degrees cant counter clockwise...once all 4 ring screws are torqued to 15 in pounds, the scope is perfectly leveled.

That is the only negative part about the design....the scope base is well made.

what wrench or screwdriver do most people use? I actually just got a 1/4" tekton wrench that is 10-150 inch/pounds, but even @ 15 inch/pounds, it really may be inaccurate due to there is that sweet spot where under or over a certain value isn't really achieved.
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
