Muzzle Brakes and Blast Redirection Device

Hello Everyone,

I am currently looking for a new muzzle brake/blast redirection device for my 300 Blackout AR pistol (with a 9.5" barrel) that can provide me with good recoil management/reduction and concussion blast mitigation (I want my shooting neighbors to like me again). I have some candidates in mind, but I am hoping to get some opinions and/or reviews from people who actually own and/or had experiences with these devices. Once you add the blast forwarding device, you are losing the effectiveness of the brake.

I have the Kinteti-tec device on a 7.62X39 rifle with a 16" barrel.

It acts as a flash enhancer, it seems. I often see quite the fireball through the scope, and on occasion I get comments from folks near me at the range about how much flame comes out when I shoot. They don't complain about any concussion, however. I can remove the threaded sleeve if I am shooting without neighbors, and enjoy the full benefit of the brake.

The sleeve is aluminum and it sure gets a lot of carbon buildup inside of it. Not an issue unless you are OCD and are bothered by that, as I seem to be '-)

Look into VG6.
I use the VG6 Cage device with my VG6 Gamma muzzle brake. It's designed to work with the muzzle brake while mitigating side concussion. The Gamma brake is available for 300 Blackout.

That's a nice picture, Jimster. Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it some more. I just wish that it was somewhat more attractive looking. But hey, if ugly gear works, then so be it.

I've heard the same thing. However, I prefer not to have my night vision ruined by a fireball. Its a bad thing when you can't see what you are trying to shoot at.

In my experience with muzzle fobs I had to decide which was worse. Muzzle blast or recoil. All of the fobs that proclaim to correct both don't really perform.
My advice is to to pick one and stop dreaming about having it all. I chose an old Lavang for an AR pistol and my coyote AR. Blast is bad out of 556. Not recoil. 300 blk is just as weak.

I have the warden and several surefire muzzle devices.
I can see several reasons to have brake and blast shield.

1. You want something that weighs more, looks cool and accomplishes the same thing as a thread protector

2. you want the recoil reduction of a muzzle break but occasionally want to spare your friends from the concussion.

3. You want to generate a huge fireball to black out your auto gated night vision and impress your friends

i was thinking about this last time out as i was awash with blast from the gent next to me.
the question for me i effectiveness tho. once you put a shroud over the brake and redirect the gas (and sound) forward again, aren't you just cancelling out the brake?
