Ok so i bought the, 1080 round sealed tins surplus ammo awhile ago from a store in Vegas, as i have been shooting my Aks-74 i have had alot of broken rounds stuck in the chamber after the round had been fired. To be more specific the back part of the casing is being torn off; I noticed that on the back of the round it has the year 76 stamped into it, would the age of the bullet be the reason why my weapon is doing that???

I think you have one of two problems.
1. The rear of the chamber of the rifle is out of spec allowing for the pressure to crack the case.
2. Your ammo has a manufacturer defect in that lot and there isn't much you can do because the country that most likely made it doesn't even exist anymore.
Have you tried it in another gun? Pics of ruptured casings?Murphy's Law - What can happen will happen at the least opportune moment -
Sounds like it could be a headspace issue, unless you know for certain that it is good to go I would get the headspace checked out. The steel cases are usually strong enough to stay together, and if stuck in the chamber it is more likely that the rim will be torn off by the extractor. Excessive headspace could allow the case to stretch enough to split, and the steel cases could be brittle as well.Comment
