SLR Rifleworks cost more money than the BCM. Oh wait that doesn't matter.

I have several UTG super slims and some cheapo Omega's keymods. All work fine. The Omegas were under $40.

If you shoot a lot be aware they can get pretty hot being so close to the barrel.

All handguards/rails have to be fatter than the barrel nut, as far as I've seen. Many of the above mentioned HGs are just barely over that.

Aero Precision makes a dam thin rail. I have small hands and was able to over lap fingers (which was kinda weird...)
I believe it’s the Atlas Rail, it’s on buddy’s AR.

OP, A free float m-lok or key-mod handguard that has minimal or no top picatinny rail will get you close to what you want. Just email the manufactures to get the outer diameter specs and compare your data.

I personally concern myself more with weight, material quality/construction, and barrel nut/mounting type more than just outer diameter. Rails are not created equal, and price doesn't always equal quality. I prefer ALG and Troy for best bang for the buck. Daniel Defense if $$$ didn't matter.

I recently purchased a "budget" upper on cyber Monday, the rail included with the upper, although visually attractive and functionally serviceable, is heavy, uses a questionable mounting system (one of the tiny mounting screws already stripped upon reinstallation after a thorough cleaning and inspection), and parts of the ventilation and m-lok cuts are sharp to the touch. Worst is it's a bit out of spec where it counts, M-lok covers don't lay flat/even when installed. And the top picatinny is under spec enough that certain accessories have to be over tightened and/or shimmed to mount securely. But hey, it/ll look great in pictures

I have the UTG Pro in Keymod. The handguard itself is amazing. Beautifully finished. Mine was FDE and looked great. Very comfortable to hold. But I had to give up on it. The nut and the attachment to the nut is flawed in my opinion. It can become a little loose and you don't want to overtorque those tiny little screws. I even bought a set of high strength metric screws to replace the crappy soft screws it came with. But it couldn't keep it from being just a wee bit wobbly after R and R-ing it a couple of times.

Ended up replacing it with a BCM Alpha rail. Now that's a solid rail!

BTW, for you UTG fans, they now offer a titanium barrel nut for the Pro rails. Check their web site if you're interested. But it's crazy expensive. Like $60 or something. I was wondering if it would work better with the handguard, but after doing some research I learned that the screws won't hold more torque in titanium than in steel. Maybe even less before stripping. So that would not have been a fix for me.
