    Bringing my builds to california.

I moved to california & am getting ready to go back and get my firearms.
I've already modified my AR's to be "featureless" in preperation for bringing them

The question I have is, since they were manufactured years ago (by me) they have no serial#, etc. The laws I read, seems to indicate that I only need them if I manufactured them in California after July 2018. Or do I need to have them serial#'d with my name?

DOJ has filed emergency regulations request that will require new residents to get a serial and apply the required markings to any homebuilts.

    See here https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1497478

Stay tuned. My guess is that it will happen.

New residents of CA have up to 60 days to report all the firearms they brought with them to CA. [PC 27560(a)]

Since the CA DOJ emergency regulations for new residents with self-made firearms have not been adopted yet, new residents can still engrave their self-made firearms with their own information and use that info to register the firearms with CA DOJ.

Starting 01-01-2019, possession of unregistered self-made firearms can be confiscated as evidence of violating CA self-made firearm laws.

Therefore, in order to comply with CA laws...
      1. You engrave your self-made firearms with your info*.
      2. You submit a completed New Resident Firearm Ownership Report (BOF 4010A) to CA DOJ BOF.

      *Your info means...
Markings must be to a minimum depth of .003 inch and in a print size no smaller than 1/16 inch.
Markings must use Roman letters (A, B, C, etc.) and Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, etc).

      Markings must include:
      1) Serial Numbers (can not be just a name, must contain numerals)
      2) Model
      3) Caliber
      4) Manufacturer's name (since you made the receiver, you are the manufacturer. so, your legal name or legal abbreviation needs to be used)
      5) City & State (where the firearm was made.)

You have to understand, you are not moving into the USA, you are moving into California, run by a Mexican government. Are guns legal in Mexico? No. So they want to outlaw them here. If you find an exemption or loophole, you are right in checking here because California will be moving to plug up that loophole and oppress you.

OP, do yourself a favor and go buy several off roster pistols before you become a Komifornian.

            How depressing...
I had no idea I had to "register" all my guns in california, I just thought it was the "evil" ones... boy this state is sucking more and more. If my aging parents didn't need someone to help care for them; I would hi-tail it back out of here. I guess it's a good thing most of my pieces are in my safe (too heavy to move) in a friends garage, I will get the rest back out of california into my safe. Amazing.
(unrelated to the original topic, but; I've had a carry permit since I was 21 in california, and then out of state -- now 54. I applied here, and over a year later, "denied" w/o any reason or cause and no way to appeal. It's like they have extra prison space & want to create new crimanals...)
