I would check the width of the rail. The rail may be out of spec.

Wouldn't be the first time I have seen a receiver machined wrong. If so call ruger or take it back to the dealer and let them deal with it.

So does the sight mount on any of your other four guns?

Thanks. I really don’t know how to read blueprints but my best guess is that the width is supposed to be 0.835 inches? If so, I measured the width of the rail on my rifle to be 27/32” or 0.8437”. But that was with a simple measuring tape. I don’t have calipers to measure it more accurately.

Yes. And until I get a resolution, I’ve decided to swap an Eotech 512 from one of my ARs to put on the PC Carbine and then I put the Huey on the AR. The Huey dropped on the AR without any issue whatsoever. I took them both to the range yesterday and sighted them both in. The Huey works great on the AR but my son and I both think it would look better on the PC Carbine.

Just for ****s & giggles, I’ll call Ruger after Christmas and see if they will take the rifle back and remachine the rail or something. I really don’t have much hope that they will though. Plus, I’m not sure I really want to spend the time & energy playing the blame game with Ruger & Vortex. So if things don’t pan out with Ruger, I’m just thinking I’ll keep the Huey on the AR and the 512 on the PC Carbine.

Sounds like an out of spec rail.

I've heard of other people with this issue exact issue: a Vortex AMG not fitting on their PCC but other optics fitting fine. I think the PCC's rail is out of spec.

Anybody you know own a pair of calipers you can borrow? For what it's worth, I measured the rail on my PCC & it's 0.827" which is slightly out of spec on the small side.

Maybe the slots are too narrow. I think Weaver spec is narrower than M1913, could be the Ruger is Weaver spec.

A digital caliper costs less than $20 at harbor freight or Amazon. Very handy tool that is well worth the money spent.

Yup, I got one for even less than that on sale. Been kicking myself for waiting so long to get it. It's been very useful on many occasions.

i'm of the opinion that anything new shouldn't need to be 'fixed' by you. gun or otherwise. if it's out of spec, just let ruger deal with it.
