I’ve experienced that same issue with the federal 100rd box Walmart ammo in an AR. Dimpled primers. Same dimpled rounds were then fired safely through AK platform. Maybe just harder primers?

My brother in law had the same problem with the same ammo. Federal replaced, but he will never buy it again.

Agree with AR15 that it's the crimp making the primer pockets look funky.

        NO AMMO RETURNS AT WALMART.

Good to know they gave him a replacement shipment. Just sent them an email so we will see what they say.

Put in the stock trigger spring and try the same ammo again.

            Are you using a 80% lower ?
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Are you sure that the hammer spring is installed correctly? Very common mistake which can do exactly what you have experienced.

Just an fyi I recently installed a JP enterprises enhanced reliability kit in one of my lowers with a RRA National Match trigger.

Took the pull down from 5 lbs to 3 without any light strikes including with wolf gold ammo and wolf classic .223.

Nice thing about it is its 10 bucks and it also has a reduced power trigger spring which might lower the pull without reliability issues.

'When shooting the ACT with the purple hammer spring and firing military grade ammo, or ammo with harder primers, light strikes may occur. If there are light strikes, it is recommended the user switch to the tan hammer spring."

This will most likely address your problem.

Yeah. If it's not a mil spec spring or trigger, better make sure the ammo works with the gun. That's pretty much for anything. Revolvers, pistols or any firearm with lightened springs runs the risk of light strikes.

One of my wife's AR has the same ALG ACT installed. She has the Tan spring installed and never had any problems with different brands of ammo.

Try a AR-47 extended firing pin?

It's essentially a mil spec trigger. The light spring is what will cause issues.

^^^ Yep! didn't want to take a chance for light strikes so the heavier spring was installed.
