    Tavor SAR B18 Help

Pardon me but it's been a hot minute since I've been active around here. I am trying to downsize my collection.

What is the easiest way to make this compliant so I can sell it?

It's still unfired but currently disassembled in the safe. This has the 18" barrel.

Here's a pic from a couple of years ago when I got it...

Kydex grip fin and I believe that barrel extension is a flash hider so it needs to be swapped with a longer muzzle brake then you’re good to go.

Otherwise if you have an ffl that is comfortable, you can disassemble the action and sell it as a receiver.

      Thanks for the reply.

I removed the flash hider that came from IWI long time ago and added what you see there.

Would I need to have the muzzle brake pinned and welded?

I believe our new definition of “Overall length of less than 30 inches” only allows us to measure off the brake if it is permanently attached. I know they were going back and forth on whether the Reg definitions would apply in all circumstances but I'm not sure where that ended up. Maybe someone could chime in ....

If the rifle is under 30" long without the muzzle device, then the muzzle device would need to be permanently attached.

Last I heard that 30" OAL Perma'd underground legislation plan was scrapped and is effectively only part of AW registration.

if the barrel is under 16" no go
if the rifle is under 30" no go

if the muzzle break is removable, then it has to be measured without it and the whole gun still has to be over 30", and if without it, the barrel itself has to be 16" (and of course, gun has to be over 30")

and a fin of course to make it featureless, no flash hider

When I bought mine 5 years ago it came with a removable 4.5" muzzle brake. Did our recent laws specify "permanently afixed"? On a side note, my tavor is no longer fun to shoot with the grip fin, it was my dream gun and I've decided to keep it. At least mag changes are quick.

If you're staying with the fin grip, I suggest you get this guy's product.

along with the larger thumb safety. It still has the limitations of a fin grip, but it feels a bit better, looks like a factory product, and the thumb safety also functions as a thumb grip.
