Thats sweet!! The Hungarians made some very unique AK variants.

Does this have it's original receiver. or is it a US made receiver?

It is a factory FEG machine gun as far as everyone somewhat familiar with them can tell. They are so rare in the US no one can provide much knowledge. Best info is TGI did import complete AMP69s as post samples. I looked as some old Hungarian manuals on it and the pictures match my receiver so if it is a copy it is very good.

I think my pictures are the most comprehensive that can be found on the internet since everything else is either a kit build or pictures from museums.

Ian might have had the correct mag. I can't tell from my phone. My mag looks like a typical ak mag but there is a very small bulge near the top of the rear spine. It adds 2x the typical thickness to the spine and makes it very subtle normal ammo should not be used. They fit but won't feed.

I got it for a really good price and was surprised no one else wanted it. I think the ugliness turns passerbys off and holding it is like holding a slinky so it gives off a flimsy feel but it is solid.
I wouldn't have said anything. You pretty much just rubbed it in his face! Lol. Nice find, very unique. Never knew Hungarians created something so ugly, yet unique like that.

I wanted to know if he had any training grenades for it. He had no idea what I was talking about so I told him about the gun. I did not give him specifics about rarity. Just let him know what he had.

He is all over the world so not sure where that gun was. He could also have had it transferred in temporarily. I don't watch him enough to know where the video was made.

I found 1 grenade so far. Looking for more and some other parts like the grenade/optic pouch.

^^^ Nice. If you get more of the kit and accessories together post some pics. It’d be interesting stuff to see.

Good point, he does travel a lot. Always like seeing what oddball things he finds, like that AMP-69
