    Del-Ton Rifle Kit

I'm shopping around for my first AR and the kit from Del-Ton.com seems like a pretty good deal with reasonably priced options. Does anyone have any experience with their kits or with their customer service in general? I'm probably going to build it on a Stag or DPMS lower and, don't hate me, I'm active duty so I'll be getting it registered and don't have to worry about fixed mag, etc.

not to run on anybody parade, but there was group buy on DelTon on this board. If I am not mistaken initial orders came to over $40K.

It didn't work out all that well. A lot people had to cancel orders, it took forever....
Do search here - I am sure you'll find more info on that....

EDIT 2020: To be fair that seems to apply to many Westerners also.

If you read Jeff's response, not all the problems were due to Del-ton. I've only heard of good customer service from Del-ton when ordering directly from them.

I have a Delton built upper from all CMMG parts. (Colt/Stag/CMMG = The same for the most part)

I have put about 2k through the thing and haven't seen a hiccup yet. I even have to admit to being a little tough on the upper and it still kicks without a hitch.

I got the Flattop with 16" Gov' profile barrel, chrome lined, normal bolt and carrier, with a two rail low profile gas block, YHM FlipUps and CAR hand guards. It's exactly as I had hoped, and even more reliable.

On the Customer service point---I was pleased all around. I called back AFTER my order to change the flashhider to a comp for the Monsterman and they had NO problem switching it around and getting it out the way I wanted it. Did I mention I called the day it was to be shipped.

If they can keep a demanding client like me happy they will do you well.

I just received an upper assy. from Del-Ton that I ordered via a special he had on AR15.com. They put a compensator on (I purchased from them with the lower) in place of the A2 flash hider and had it out the door in 48 hours with no extra labor charge.

I put a few rounds through it last weekend, and I am very satisfied.

I ordered two identical CAR kits from Del-Ton a little while ago. One went on my lower and another on my brother in-laws. Both kits arrived a little over a week after ordering, went together with ease and have been performing flawlessly since. I have 1000 rounds through mine without a hitch. My brother in-law has fired about 250 rounds through his, also without a problem. I will order through them again.

I got my upper assembly and some other stuff from Del-ton and was very pleased. I did order it right in the middle of the fury of the OLL situation, and they were out of the barrels I had asked for; but they called me to tell me that, and offered to subsititute a different barrel if I did not want to wait 2-3 weeks. I'm impatient so I went with that, and had my upper 5 days later (including a three day weekend in those 5 days). So from my experience they're a great company to deal with.

I bought my first upper fro Madel 1 Sales, it arrived a week later, and I'm happy with it.
I bought my second upper from Delton to save $30 and they kept 2-weeking me for almost 3 months and the 1913 gas block was all scratched up when it finally got here.

I purchased the 20" kit with an 'A1' upper (really C7 w/assist) and had to wait 4 weeks due to the OLL crunch. They told me within 24 hrs it was on backorder and I decided to wait. It was worth it. All I had to do was move the front sight a few clicks down and it was right on at 100yds. Very reliable. I only changed the front handguard cuz I wanted the triangle type. This kind of thread screams for pics, so here's my Delton:

Got my kit from delton less than a week everything fit perfect even the lower parts kit ...can't say the same for the dpms parts kit. Missing some parts and some parts where not to spec.
