I don't sell parts, but I can certainly make a heavy or A2 contour barrel into an A1 contour barrel and mount a front sight base on it for you.
I can also put the whole upper together and verify that headspace is correct.

I was just trying to find the post where he explains this...

True. Mostly. But some people build them light and with shorter barrels for hunting. An A2 style Grendel would probably make a decent hunting or HD rifle, where long range isn't a factor.

It's also appropriate for hunting medium sized game, although aesthetics aside I don't think there's a good reason to avoid using a float tube.

                5lbs, 9.7oz. At 1.68 pounds a 6.5 Grendel 18" Faxon Gunner profile barrel weighs a hair less than a 20" M16A1 part.

With the popularity for hunting I'm a little surprised at the lack of pencil barrels - Faxon's 16" 5.56x45mm pencil barrel is 1.19 pounds.

I built an upper using Faxon's Gunner barrel for the sole purpose of hunting medium game. A pencil would've been even lighter, but I wanted a little more meat just in case. I went with a 20" for a bit more velocity for long range antelope.

When you build your own upper, you get to pick the components, so you get exactly what you want instead of hoping someone else makes exactly what you want.

You can not build a select fire lower but you could buy a full auto AR and drop the 6.5 upper on it...

It will blow your budget a little.. By about $20 to 30 grand. When I bought my machine gun they were only around $900 to $1000. My class III dealer here in Reno has five M-16"s for sale right now if you want one.
