    Need FFL for Muzzleloader?

My friend wants a muzzleloader, but doesn't know if its considered a firearm and need to register it and have it DROSed or even have it transferred t an FFL. I am not a fan of muzzleloaders, so could anybody help him out? Thanks

No, not required. Black Powder is exempt.

Not to threadjack, but funny story: I remember in the opening hours of the 92 King riots, me and pops went to Lock Stock and Barrel in Temple City to stock up on .45 ACP ball, and a couple of professional suit-types were in there all pissed cause they wanted to buy handguns, but didn't know there was a 15 day waiting period. So the salesman recommends black powder pistols, and the guy got insulted and left. About 2 minutes later, the suit comes back in and is like, "OK, I'll take it, can you show me how it works??"

Right as we left with our ammo, Temple City sheriffs showed up to shut them down.

Let's hope the 2nd doesn't get infringed per this new law: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=40737
