    AR9 Conversion

I start looking around for information on AR 15 9mm with Glock magazine and wonder if anyone would charm in on good affordable reliable components. I found the following:

9MM Adapter: Stern Defense, LLC - AR-15 9MM Adapter Glock
There are a number of colt mag adapter but not much for Glock that I found. Is Stern Defense adapter reliable?

9MM Buffer: Kak 9mm buffer 5.4 oz for rifle and 7.5 oz pistol

9MM Spring: Kaw Valley .308/9MM Spring (rifle).
I am planning to use KaK tube/brace so the rifle spring won't fit, right? Would carbine spring work?

9MM BCG: United Defense Labs 9mm BCG

    9MM Upper: PSA etc

    Any recommendation is appreciated.

The cheapest way is to just get a lower that's designed for Glock mags. There are a number of manufacturers that make them, like PSA, Kerri's Guns, and whatever else you can google.

Ditto on a dedicated 9mm lower! I've seen them for Glock, Sig or Colt magazines. All the adapters I've tried seem to have one problem or another, and sometimes even fall out of the lower when swapping mags.

I am waiting for the mean arms mag adapters for pmags myself. They look like they will work very well but only time will tell. I did the pre order so hoping they ship mine soon.

I don't know what kind of adapters you've tried , but I have both a dedicated Colt smg magazine lower and a KAK top load Colt adapter and both have been trouble free for many thousands of rounds. The Colt branded AR 9 uses a magwell adapter.

I just looked on their website and it seems they're shipping them now. Would love to hear how they work when you get them!

Mean arms mag adapter is very interesting....but you have to have a 30 round pmag body. Are you suppose to epoxy it after you change out the spring with the limiter?

I would question the durability and longevity of the use of a plastic feed ramp and plastic ejector. It doesn't sound like it would stand up to repeated use.

I don't see why you would need to. Permanence has never been defined as of yet and the insides will only allow 10 rounds to be loaded. So it is a ten round mag unless you modify it. Which would be the same for any riveted mags that most people use. Kinda like they Beowulf guys have to deal with.

I see, kind of like Hex Mag 10/30 where they are really 10 permanently. Forgot about that one. But one can't buy a new 10/30 PMag without being epoxy or rivet anymore, at least I don't know where. The few that I bought earlier had all been permanently modified.
