I know that there's no place that regularly stocks them in any quanitity, but where are the best prices for top-shelf items such as Armalite and Bushmaster to be found?

but by no means they are "top shelf" stuff....- LL

By them thru calguns thru people like me. Calguns has the best prices.
Dealers unfortunately don't have any and when they do they are generally charging a lot more than they should. Typically starting at $800 to $900 for a standard upper.
You can order them from manufacturers, but expect to wait 6+ months. Which is not worth it when you get get them for almost the same cost thru calguns or maybe $100 more.

Not so sure I'd say Bushmaster is a top shelf product. I'd probably put Noveske, POF, Colt, BCM, and LMT up above them.
I couldn't image finding those uppers right now. They are so hard to find people are even going to the bottom feeders like Model 1, Olympic, and Blackthorne. Not that I recommend doing that. GunBroker has lots of good stuff but it is overpriced, your only other shot would be here.Comment

Those Noveskes are a bit too steep for most guys...especially when they will have to find a bolt carrier and carry handle which will set them back about $200+. I can't believe they are shipping them without carriers....why don't they contract with machine shop to make some for them.Comment
