    armalite uppers?

what does everyone think of them?

im lookin at the M15A2 carbine with the carry handle.

anybody tried one on a stag lower?

PS - i know they come with a flash suppressor, i would get it removed and replaced wtih a YHM phantom brake

    Armalite makes nice uppers.

They should fit fine on a Stag lower unless you're one of the very small # of people that has a slightly-out-of-spec upper or lower.

thanks bill! do you have any commentary on their weight or accuracy? im going to be running it with a monsterman grip, bushmaster 10rd mags, and RRA shorty entry stock (and obviously no evil features)

i just hope its not too heavy in front with the heavy barrel to upset the balance (i may add material to the rear to increase weight if so)

ps - it is a mid length gas system right?

I cannot speak to your particular gun, but do know Armalite prides itself on quality stuff.

I own an AR10A2 (20" 308 chrome-lined barrel) and it's an under-1MOA tack driver from bench with match ammo. And the barrel's not even free-floated (so I rest it on sandbags toward the rear of the barrel where it meets the receiver).

I have no idea what barrel profile you will have. Generally heavier bbls are somewhat more accurate (less flex) but this is not a hard & fast rule. Light barrels are easier to carry and move around...

I believe all Armalite 16" carbines are mid-length, there were only some limited runs of CAR-length gas system uppers several years ago. The mid length system used to be 'weird' and untested but there's enough vendors & product out there that I think they've got the tuning down OK.

What Bill said. I have a 16" Armalite AR-15 upper (same you are considering, with a carry handle) and 20" AR-10 upper, both chrome-lined. Happy with both, they shoot surplus well and with better ammo accuracy improves.
