    AK Underfolder Question

In order to be CA legal with a pinned mag of course does there have to be a permanent extension to the barrel to make the length legitimate when folded? Thanks a lot. -Ben

Some people put fake suppressors on to meet the OAL requirement.

Heres a link where this has been discussed pretty well:http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ht=underfolder

it does not have to be permanent. You can just screw on a longer muzzle break/flash hider.

Permanence is only required to follow federal law.

        Correct for over all length.

Frilo is referring to minimum federal BARREL length (not over all length)

Permanence is only required to bring a barrel to 16 inches or longer, correct?

yeah i though it went hand in hand

He wants to make the barrel about 4 inches longer, depending on what underfolder.

I think I will sell my underfolder kit, it was an impulse buy before I remembered the law. Too bad, I always wanted an underfolder, just not with a dumb muzzle device...

there are a number of brakes that will make it the desired length.
You could pipe clamp a piece of copper tube over your existing slant brake as a temporary solution. It fits nicely, I have seen it done....

don't forget california has a 30" (thirty inches) OAL requirement. (not 26)
