    the threads are metric.

The muzzle brake will fit if you use the original castle nut.

I tried the other way. I tried to put Norinco fake flash suppressor on my M-1A and it won't fit. Now I am stuck with a $40 junk I don't know what to do with it.

It should fit, might be a little tight to start. My brother put a Norinco fake flash surpressor on his M1A scout - needed a little hit with a rubber mallet to start it, after that, turning the castle nut helped it slide down and fit nicely (ETA - as I recall, it was tap with mallet, turn nut, tap with mallet, turn nut, and so on).

Conversly, I have a Norinco M14 that works fine with multiple flash supressors (it's a reg'd AW) and muzzle brakes, including Springfield's. I use a USGI castle nut and it works OK, a little tight, have to use the castle-nut pliers to turn the nut the whole way, but it fits and works well (U.S. threads vs. metric on barrel are off, but not by much - screwing nut on carefully the first time re-threads them so they work - at least on mine).
