Finally getting around to getting my Romy G built...

I'm in the same boat, just started with my AK builds once the "morepoop4u" mag lock came out. (I love calling it that) I went with the tapco g2 FCG (got it from bocefus with my kits for less than I've seen advertised anywhere else). NDS-3 is one. So I need two more if I'm going to use the original slant brake, and I found these mags at CTD.
Description states "US Manufactured steel magazine" only. So I emailed them and asked "WHICH parts are US made, of the body, follower and floorplate?" Response I received was "The entire magazine is US made." So I figure WTH, they're 10 bucks and I need the mags anyway. Got them yesterday, they're not marked as US made anywhere, but the plastic follower looks US made to me. Mag body could be a cut down 20 or 30, and the floorplate could be original. I think I'm going to risk using it as the rest of my 922r parts. I don't really care. I'm beginning to think this 922r stuff is like a gun guy inside joke.
ETA - The mags I got dont look anything like the one in the pic. Locking lug is totally different, finish on the mag is high gloss black. It looks brand new. Of course it could have just been made to look brand new with some shiny paint. I don't know enough about AK mags to know whether it's a cut-down body or notLast edited by thedrickel; 10-07-2006, 7:56 PM.I hate people that are full of hate.

Its funny you post this, I just finished mine todayLord, make my hand fast and accurate.

US parts I recommend are:
slant brake, ak-74 muzzlbrake or any other kind legal brake (got one from dph arms)
Tapco g2 trigger parts (counts as 3) (dph or tapco has them)
your receiver of course counts
so far 5
the other would be if you are pretty good with removing stuff the gas piston (dph has them or tapco) and you probably need one more, so i'd go with a pistol grip (if you go nondetach) or with mag follower (tapco)(that way you can legally use your standard cap mags if you have any)
I will vote for a donkey-sex maniac if he's pro-gun.

U.S. Made Walnut AK Stock
From Classic Arms Unadvertised web page http://www.classicarms.us/htm/specials.htm towards the bottom:
"What you see here is a U.S. made walnut stock set for a milled AK rifle. [snip] They have no metal hardware but the buttstock is cut out for the cleaning kit, buttplate and screws. [snip]....US-AKSS ONLY $39.95/SET." The picture of the stocks looks nice.
While it is for a milled receiver, it shouldn't be too difficult to make it fit a stamped receiver. My cut-up milled receiver parts aren't too far off the dimensions of a stamped receiver. Looks like buttstock needs to be modified. Anyone know for sure?

Bear in mind, folks, that you DON'T need 'X' US parts. You need 10 or less NON-US parts to win 922(r).
I'm bringing this up only because for the very popular California gripless builds, we aren't using the imported pistol grip so we actually need one less compliance part than free-state folks.
I have a javascript worksheet down below for folks to use too, if needed.
The combination of The Gun Wiki to our system is not only in line with what we are working on, but will also serve as a means in which to build upon our ongoing projects.
Put together 2.5 AK's this weekend for folks, by the way. Got a new plinker jig that's working wonders. But, to anyone considering buying a K-Var underfolder kit - bear in mind that it doesn't come with the rear trunion! This is why this weekend netted 2.5, and not 3!Primary author of gunwiki.net - 'like' it on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Gunwiki/242578512591 to see whenever new content gets added!Comment

looks like All I have to do then is just get trigger/hammer/disconnector/muzzle brake and I will be good to go
Actually, how hard is it to replace the muzzle brake? I want to start with a regular old slant break, but I might want to change over to a -74 style eventually...Last edited by PanzerAce; 10-08-2006, 3:42 PM."There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury and ammo.
