    [CLOSED]

Many of us have seen the featureless compliant Hera CQR Stock

It has a plate (noted in red) to prevent you from being able to put your thumb through and being able to grip the handle.

Would it still be compliant if someone replaced the plate with a plastic bag?
As long as the bag doesn't rip there would be no hole so it would be compliant, correct?

If one were to loosen the bag enough, they could wrap there thumb around the handle.

Is there anything I'm missing? From everything I've read I don't see how this wouldn't be compliant.

    Edit:

Just imagine replacing that black plate with a zip-loc bag. If it was tight it would be similar to the plate except clear. Now if you loosened the bag but it was still connected you would have some wiggle room and be able to put your thumb around the grip.

That is probably exactly what the DA will do in front of the jury. Don't kid yourself into thinking anything as temporary as a baggie would be considered as complying.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

          Are you for real?

....you would have some wiggle room and be able to put your thumb around the grip.

You just answered your own question. Then the weapon would no longer be featureless because you could use the pistol grip by placing your thumb around it.

I thought you just couldn't have a thumb-hole stock or a pistol grip?
Which part of the law am I missing?

            Also here is an example:

              Also here is an example:
The Pistol grip is the feature not the thumb hole. Thump hole allows your thumb to go around the grip making it a pistol grip. The plate blocks the thumb hole so you do not have a pistol grip. Your baggie will allow your thumb to go through making it a pistol grip. You lose.

My father would have suggested you were having a pipe dream.

You need to lookup how a pistol grip is defined in California, nevermind elsquid posted it already

I say forget using thin, rippable plastic and use the same material they use for condoms.

Nobody ever said a thumb hole has to go through the stock, it could be a blind hole and still be a thumbhole.

Thordsen stock. You can wrap your thumb around to hold it steady with either hand. Angle is more like my mossberg shotgun but my buddy loves the 3 he did on his.
