Young Manufacturing BCG's..Anyone got one lately?

Has anyone ordered and received a Young BCG lately? I ordered a chrome BCG over a month ago and have heard nada and another phosphate BCG a few weeks back and again, nothing. I called about the Chrome on because the CC# i used when ordering changed and I eventually got a call back letting me know that someone would contact me when it was ready to get my new info. That was about 3 weeks ago. Anyone had any better luck?

Please rethink your decision to get a Young's (or any other brand) chromed bolt carrier.

Somehow they seem to be the noob's #1 accessory - or maybe regular bolt/carriers are scarce enough w/heavy demand that people are buying the extravagant ones.

They are NOT needed by 99.99% of folks and the chromed bolt carrier accelerates wear in your upper receiver.

Uncle Sammy discontinued use of chromed M16 carriers in late 1960s for this very reason.

I also hear reports that the gas keys on YM carriers are not 'staked', which is a huge flaw to me (certainly not Colt-USGI spec).

Zillions of people shoot ARs 100% reliably and with wonderful accuracy just using regular bolt carriers [albeit with staked gas keys ]

Your money might be more well-spent for more ammo/practice, toward a good optic, or even for a spare bolt (they can fail) you store in your buttstock or pistol grip.

Thanks for your opinion Bill...again. I've seen you post this opinion many times before and there are some definite flaws in your points. I've used chrome BCG's for a while now and had nothing but great results with them. Your accelerated wear idea is accurate..but only if used if fully automatic weapons. The other "wear" issue was a problem that arose when the M-16 was first introduced in which the chrome lining caused the carrier to slam into the stock, weakening it and causing it to break when used for butt-stroked or when hitting the ground too hard. Your other arguments i've seen about the chrome lined BCG's removing the CLP buildup in the weapons is not quite accurate either. The first rounds used when the M-16 was first intoroduced had a powder in them that left a sticky residue that balled up and when the chrome BCG's scraped this buildup off the inner walls of the receiver, it caused the weapon to jam. This was fixed when the military switched to the M193 ammo. You also stated that you "hear reports" that the YM carriers are not staked, which you described as a "huge flaw"...again, your opinion. ave you ever used a chrome BCG?

Have you tried calling them about your order? What response did you get from them?
The CC i used has not been charged by them yet.

Anyone else have any experience recently purchasing from Y/M?

Got a phosphated carrier w/key sometime around early November and that took about 3-4 weeks IIRC, worth the wait.

I have a Chrome Young BCG in my 5.56 AR.
The gas key was not staked (but I took care of that before I even shot it so no big deal in my book). It did however have an 'o' ring around the extractor spring stock, and some type of sealant under the gas key (red loctitie?). It is super easy to clean. I built my 5.56 from parts so checked head space before firing. Using a SDI barrel, and Young BCG it checked out perfectly. Closed on a 'Go', and would not close on a 'No Go'.
It cycles perfectly as well, and extracts reliably too (not a single failure to extract thus far).
My upper receiver is not showing any undue wear due to it (I do keep it coated with a light coat of CLP though).
So I have to ask.........WTF? Do you have some personal grudge against that company? If so please tell us your story because I most certainly would buy one again having used one for about 1500 rounds so far without any issues.
