USA or ASA? Which one is on the list?

I'm a little confused, as to which American Spirit model is on the AR series ban list. I've always seen it as USA model, meaning ASA is off list. But looking at the CA doj Assault Weapon Identification guide 3rd edition its saying ASA is the banned model and I don't recall ever seeing it like that.

Look on the second page for the "CA AW ID Flowchart" found here:

"Can our form of government, our system of justice, survive if one can be denied a freedom because he might abuse it?" --Harlon Carter
"A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have." --Gerald Ford
"Government is essentially the negation of liberty." --Ludwig von Mises

Exactly as I've seen it, " USA ". So how does a DOJ site now say " ASA '?

The guide on the DOJ website is stale...

Quote "Ignore the DOJ Assault Wpns Identification Guide.
It's a guide and not the law, and is out of date since the Harrott decision of June 28, 2001.

The only banned items are Roberti-Roos listed guns in 12276PC (echoed in 11 CCR 5495) and the Kasler list of formally identified AR/AK series members in 11 CCR 5499. Other copies are NOT banned, and the 'copies and duplicates' language in the law at PC 12276(e) and (f) has been killed by Harrott decision etc."

I know the wise one you speak of. So they fixed an error for the FUD Guide, which has no standing in a court.
