Country of Origin on a rewelded Yugo M64

    OK, gang, trick question.

If I had a de-milled Yugo M64 that had the middle third of the receiver missing, and I had Matt Yeamans make the missing piece and reweld the receiver back together, engrave it with his name, town and state, is the manufacturer still considered to be in Yugoslavia, or in Oregon where he rebuilt it?

This is for AW registration, of course.

So who is buried in Grant's Tomb?

I believe it would be us, since it was made into a non firearm then essentially created again in the us.
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

      What is on the DROS?

Who paid the federal exercise tax for building a new Firearm from parts?

If Matt is an SOT 07 FFL, then how shops info is the manufacturer.

Matt would be the manufacturer. Its just parts as is. he has to make it a working receiver. hes also good about discreet markings if you ask him and he has great welding skills. He doesnt usually refinish or color the receiver though.

As above. It's just a pile of parts until the manufacturer builds the receiver. So who ever built the receiver is the manufacturer.

            Thank you, gentlemen

Unfortunately, I have no access to the DROS papers until this weekend Would it be a problem if the DROS says "Yugoslavia" as country of origin and I enter "US" for AW registration? Matt clearly has it engraved on the receiver, "Talent, OR"

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.
