New to aks

Can someone give a list of manufacturers of aks that are on the same level as a lwrc or Daniel defense?

The common denominator for high end guns like DD, compared to say a PSA, is that they are dead reliable & parts won't break on you at inopportune times. If that's the criteria, then in the AK world I'd go WASR. Yep, the cheapest, most basic one is also one of the most reliable.

Vepr, Arsenal, Yugo, DDI, Cigur guns ( Sar, Wasr ) pretty much in that order for me..
The Vepr/molot fm47/74 are one of my favorites as of late but my all-time favorite is a 1999 SAR2....

You can basically get ANY Ak that was not made in America and you will be good to go.

The best ak is not by brand, but the same methodology when you go build an AR. Mine is made from a bucket of parts and it turned out great.

Anything that is NOT US made... Just stay away from Century's C39 and RAS lines, all of IO's current products, Palmetto, and DDI

You'll be safe buying anything from Arsenal, Cugir/Wasr, Zastava/Npap, or WBP from Atlantic

Molot and Izhmash rifles aren't imported anymore but can still be found on the secondary marketplace, those are great choices too

I hope you realize when people say, “Century sucks” they mean guns built by them, not guns imported by them...like the wasr.

Vepr, anyday! (Both are great guns though, I'm just biased)

You made the right choice ditching your RAS, but the Wasr was good to go. RAS is 100% made from American parts, and unfortunately US companies haven't figured out a way to make them reliable and durable with use. Your Wasr, on the other hand, is manufactured by Romarm in Cugir Romania. Wasr is the best entry-level AK on the market. Go check out AK Operator Union's video on the gun!
