    .22 upper issue?

Took the .22 out today to try it out, the fit was perfect on the Stag lower.. but just a small issue that came up (or is it?). There's no problems feeding the Wolf .22lr, but after the last round is fired, the bolt does not lock back. Is this normal? This leads me to occassionally fire on an empty chamber (I hear you shouldn't dry fire on a .22).

Not too big of a deal, I can manage to keep count if i try . Oh and, the Wolf ammo seems to have some sort of coating on it.. real greasy and annoying to load. This normal as well?

Sorry that I am of no help to your inquiry.

But just wanted to say Kudos for your great looking set up. What brand upper is that and how much did it run you if you don't mind?

this company www.tacticolsol.com make a upper for the 223 that will have the bolt stay open after the last round, but they are expensive, $610.00....

Completly normal. Use a BDM mag with the bolt hold open follower it it bugs you. Althought the bolt will release when you drop your mag.

I think it's actually www.tacticalsol.com that you are referring to.

                i

i have the exact same set up on 1 rifle. the sd yhm spikes dedicated 22lr upper sitting on a stag lower. haven't had that problem. i did need to keep plyers handy occasional shell would get lodged stuck in bolt, overall extremely accurate. awesomeness. i got that 22lr end bolt recently that threads into back of lower reciever. cool stuff

Yeah, it's the spikes .22lr upper with the non-lightweight rails with the fake SD can.

Anyone know if that ickiness on the Wolf ammunition is normal?

It has nothing to do with your upper. Its the mag. It looks like you are already using a BDM mag but it may have the old follower. Got to BDMs web page and order up some new followers. Easy fix. I cant tell which bolt you are using but if it is Spikes or Tac Solutions then they recommend to only use federal FMJ, atleast 38 grain and no lead bullets.
