DS Arms FAL . Any Cali owners ?

Looking to order an FAL . They told me the Ca compliant version has a welded magazine to use stripper clips . How annoying is that ? Will I regret it ? New to the scene . I imagine no one in the aftermarket makes a bullet button for an FAL? Any input appreciated

Check out Atlantic Firearms online. They got a good selection of CA legal FAL, basically featureless.

Your imagination is pretty limited if you think there's no other compliant options. Although a bullet button is not a viable compliance option.

I have 1, but it’s featureless. I would not have bought it if the magazine was welded in... that’s stupid. Wat if you were to drop it and dent the mag, then what?

Go with Atlantic for the featureless option. Don't weld a frickin mag onto a $1000 rifle for God's sake.

Atlantic has compliant versions of dsa fals...Or you can find a middleman and have one made featureless...easy

I know Atlantic has FALs, and I know of other options for obtaining one. I was asking OP to clarify the vague term.

You'll probably regret it. As others have said, buy from another California friendly vendor who will remove the pistol grip or make it featureless for you with a wrap. You might want to look here too.

Another option for procuring a nice FAL - sign up over on the FAL Files and introduce yourself - good people over there.
Hang around the marketplace until you see the specific variant of FAL/SLR that sings a siren's song to you. Have the seller make it featureless before sending it into Cali. Buy one of the FAL Locking Mag Releases that are soon to hit the market and un-neuter it back from featureless configuration for the win...

I definitely logging onto and spending time in the marketplace...better guns on balance than a new DSA (yes, I've had several). Sweetest FAL I've shot was done by Arizona Response Systems with an unissued STG58 kit built on an Imbel gear-logo lower.
