    cross armory - problem solved

... who has a solution for preventing the upper from swinging all the way forward when released?

I have an AR with quick pins and safe mag installed. I'm wondering if there is fix that would allow you to pinch the quick pins with one hand, without needing the other to hold onto the forend/handguard. Anything that would restrict the upper from opening more than reasonable needed for the safe mag to activate and drop the mag.

Otherwise, you have to use two hands on the rifle to open and close the upper/receiver, before you can reach for a mag. And you can't really hold the rifle in one hand while trying to strip a mag, or try a tactical reload, for example.

EDIT - disregard - I saw that CA has a product called a "flop stop". Gonna look into that.

why would you let it flop? you can hold it the whole time without any detriment to the front pin holes and do a more consistent reload.
