Did I goof?

Hey calgunners I had a question: I just ordered a WASR 10.... this one in fact: https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/com....html?Itemid=0 .

It says theres no bayonet lug(oh no) but it also says there's a weld on the barrel to prevent attaching a muzzle brake. What! I was thinking about cancelling my order and getting this one instead http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/comp....html?Itemid=0.

Is the muzzle brake that big of a deal to blow 45 bucks to cancel my order?

45 + 25 cost difference = $70. I've read you can file the weld off and have functional threads underneath.

Is that so? If the weld can be dremeled or filed off I think I'm good with what I ordered, then. I'm seeing a lot of slant brakes for less than ten bucks. Thanks hombre

Thought about that but on their website it says once an orders placed it can't be changed... only cancelled for $45. It's alright though I'm handy with a file... I successfully filed and fit my CZ KADET to my SP-01.

Forgot to add an update! Atlantic Firearms actually allowed me to exchange it free of charge at the last minute. It was a fast and seamless change.

Todd and Brad from Atlantic Firearms were very helpful and responsive. I give them both 10/10. Also picked it up at Alquist Arms in Turlock and got 10/10 service as well.

WASR AKMs are decent. However, for those in the used AKM market, be sure to stick to ones manufactured after 2008 to avoid the canted sights and mag wobble issues.

The older ones are fine too, don’t get me wrong...you just have to do your due diligence to avoid the bad ones.
