My mag lock is a drop in piece that fills the gap in the sheet metal and takes up the free space under the left side handguard.
I made it out of aluminum and with a 10 rnd mag inserted, dropping his in and re-attaching the handguard freezes the mag catch in place.
I used it to be able to put the handguards back onto my full size and mini pistols.

If you guys want, I can get a camera and post pics tomorrow or Fri at the latest (I'm on duty tomorrow for 24 hours).

The other way is to negate the space behind the grip... this way you cannot wrap your thumb around behind it.

Ignore the display barrel in this pic, also forgive the poor attempt at painting. With a sheet metal or aluminum wedge connecting the back of the grip housing to the back of the receiver. The operator cannot wrap they're thumb around the back of the grip.

Just call Vector. They make a Cali legal version! I spoke with a gal on the phone last week that said they would make me one right up and ship to the FFL of my choice in Cali. Ask for the manager when you call, the manager I spoke with was a women....very nice!

I thought they were out of business? How do they lock the mag on the CA legal version? What was the pricing for the UZI?

        Thanks in advance!

You could always build one. I bought a GI receiver a year ago, and will be buying a semi kit from D&D soon. It takes some welding and some fabrication, but it can be done. I don't think any money is saved in the process, but money isn't always an issue.

Neither of those guns are allowed in CA in their current configuration.

Does Freakshow (or anyone else) provide the necessary CA compliance mods for these?

I have 2 Uzis, a full size and a mini. The Mini rules! much better design but there aren't as many parts to be had.

Get in touch with PRK Arms, they'll bring them in with CA compliance mods pre-installed for you. It's probably the only place in CA that you can buy such an item right now if they have them in stock. Chances are that it'll be an Uzi pistol if anything.
