    AMMO!?

Where has all the ammo gone?! It's unsettling how scarce .223 ammo is getting these days. When will the situation improve? Suppliers need to increase production, they'd sell every round they make.

I think more people are just stocking up more that usual. Pick up what you can afford some have resorted to spending hours every day checking with on-line dealers.

The high-end match-grade ammo is plentiful, as well as the >70 grain stuff. My guess is that the higher prices are enough of a deterrent to stop stockpilers.

The price is more unsettling to me than the availability.

You should have been stock piling earlier, but it is never too late. If prices go down, you dollar cost average by purchasing more.

It will go back down it's just a matter of time. Be patient, I'm used to waiting for everything in my life so it's not very hard for me.

River City Gun Exchange in Sac has PMC brass cased 55 grain ammo for $400 per 1k. They have German, Brittish & some other surplus 7.62 nato ammo for around $.60 per round. They even have ss109 ammo in stock. Wolf .223, Lawman 5.56, Federal xm193 are all in stock. They have a TON of ammo in stock at decent prices currently.

Firequest International has $1000 rounds of .233 for $399 in stock. I just got my order last week and it looks to be good quality. I haven't shot it yet, so only then will I know for sure.

i stocked up about maybe 3.5K rounds. i'd buy more, but i think that'll last me up to summer maybe. hopefully prices go down a little more then. i did some comparisons to .223 ammo i bought in jan 07, was almost the same but i bought 1k of sellia and bellot (aren't the pricier)? i'm more or less at the same cost from the bulk purchase i did last month compared to jan 07 from SF cow palace.
