    VLTOR CASV-M help...

Anyone have experience with the VLTOR CASV-M handguard? I am primarily looking for a rail riser to make shooting my AR pistol easier when using BUIS or optic. I was told that a 1/2 inch riser would help. As I understand this rail system mounts on top of flat top upper. Any suggestions for a riser or with this rail is appreciated.

Optics would work but with a BUIS the rear sight mounts on the upper rail not the CASV. You could move if forward on to the rail but you would leave a weird looking gap in the back and you would have to mount the front sight on the rail as well to get the propper sight geometry and cutting down your sight radius. If you are planning on running optics, they make risers for almost all makes and models, no need for the CASV.

i have a CASV on one of my rifles and i love it. it does raise your sight, i use an aimpoint compM2 and have a low ARMS mount on it that gives it a absolute co-witness.
