    Gunsmith for new built AR?

I've just about finished my new AR (just have to install the muzzle brake). I wanted to have someone glance over it and make sure it's all good to go and that the headspacing is right. Does anyone have any recommendations in the Orange County area?

I went with a Toolcraft BCG and Ballistic Advantage barrel, so I doubt I'll have any issues, I just wanted to make sure.

    take it to riflegear.
when you go to shoot it, load just one bullet. check function.
    two more times.
then load mag with 5 and check function.
    pull bcg. check for shavings.
no shavings, oil put the bcg back in.
    shoot 10 rd mag,
enjoy the rest of the day
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
    I'm Back.

Best thing to do with a new build is just throw a 30 round mag in and blast away.
      Any problems will self-correct.

You should be able to field test it yourself.

        Cold tests:
1.Does the bolt close on a factory round? Then the head space isn't too short.
        2. Did you torque the barrel nut to >50 ft/lbs? Then barrel isn't loose.
        3. Does the gas tube slide into the BCG easy? Then gas tube is aligned.

        Hot tests:
Make sure the barrel is clean/unobstructed and don't use steel cased ammo for initial run. That crap is not accurate and can stick in a tight match chamber.
        4. Did the BCG cycle and pick up a second round? Then the gas block is lined up with the gas port.
        5. Can it hold a bench rest group <3" of 10 shots at 100 yards? Then its good to go.

It passes a function test without a round in the chamber with no problem. I went ahead and took it to Riflegear today. $16 is well worth the peace of mind that the headspacing is good. Once I get it back, the brake will go on and I should be good to go.

I took my rifle to my local gun shop. They checked my headspace for free. Another lgs also had previously told me that they would check it for free.
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet
