          God I think it's the same video that I saw in boot camp way back in 80. Seem's the service couldn't update evan back then... But it sure bring's back memories.

                      IIRC, finger off the trigger did not become the norm until late 80s.

                        Haha, he doesn't just have his finger ON the trigger, he's got the trigger pulled back half the time. Funny. And I didn't know the late 80's finger off the trigger thing...so training was to keep your finger on it all the time? Details for us young'ns!

                          After watching this, it suddenly all makes sense why the AR's controls aren't more ergonomically and tactically located. The guy's reloading so leisurely and with such wasted extra motion...

                            All I know, is this really makes me want to do a retro build. Probably a 607 carbine complete with 1st gen collapsable stock, shortened triangular handguards and all. Only problem from getting it close is the short barrel length. I figure a reverse flash hider on a 16" will be close enough, but not as short as it should be.
