Making Legal Just Right 9mm Carbine in CA.

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I searched the forum and didn't find anything.
I have had a JR Carbine sense they first came on the market and because the receiver does not split like the AR platform where I can use a mag lock, I'm at a loss as to how to make it legal in CA without registering it as an AW. I also don't think the stock mounts the same as this has always been the Adjustable type, If I drop the pistol grip off the bottom (which I haven't explored because its in the back of the safe) will it accept a featureless stock so I can just move on?
Thanks for reading and please point me in the right direction if this has already be discussed.
    Thanks Calguners. Your the best!

Pin the stock and put a grip wrap on it, done.

The Thordsens Stock (http://www.thordsencustoms.com) fits the JR carbine if you want to spend a little money.

Short of that you can simply get a magpul fixed stock or pin your current stock, add a grip wrap and you are now featureless as there is no muzzle device on the JR carbine. ~ Again this is all per my personal interpretation of the "assaulty features of an assaulty rifle"

        The Thordsens Stock (http://www.thordsencustoms.com)
Is the way I went on both my JP 9's and JP 15.
I have been running the U-15 stocks on my HD AR and my JP. I really like
the Thordsens, much lighter that the wood U-15 and more accessories and options. Not a fan of grip wraps. I like to be able to have a firm grip on the stock. Especially for competition and Home Defense.

+1 on the Thordsen stock. A ambi-safety would get in the way of my trigger finger.

I just reach under the grip and flick the safety on with my middle finger.

Thank you all for some great ideas. I'm all over the Thordson stock. Didn't know they made it for the JR.
              Thanks Cal Guns.

Does the JRC use a standard mag release or something proprietary?

I went with a Thordson stock as well. I didn't get one with the buffer cover as I was not sure it would fit. My JRC is a .40S&W model and the buffer is about a half an inch longer than the buffer tube on my dad's 9mm JRC and the buffer tube and the stock are very close. Now just trying to mind a compensator/brake that doesn't look goofy. Stanze, What that you have on your rifle? Nice to have the regular Mag release back.

Yeah... JR themselves make every caliber of JRC in a CA compliant version with the FRS-15 stocks already. That was one of the options I was leaning towards before Ruger released the PCC.
