Check your head space? Maybe the rounds you are using had the shoulder pushed back too far? Weak hammer spring?

Ok thank you. I’ll check that next. I’m using a geisselle 2 stage and never had any issues. I’ll definitely check my headspace. Thanks again

Yes. I’ve had the rifle for abt 5 years same set up and no isssues till the last couple of days. I just thought of something I’ve been hand loading each round cause to clear a double feed with these new mag locks is a pain and I hate trying to clear it with a round in the barrel.

I have the same problem with a rifle that's about 5 years old. It just started having light primer strikes about every 5th round or so. I'm going to swap out the modular trigger to see if that's the problem.

I have an extra bcm trigger I’ll throw that in and see if that improves the problem.

Geissele triggers use full power hammer springs so unless you have the hammer installed wrong, I doubt thats the problem.

Yeah, this^. It would be a shame to remove a good trigger and replace it with a mediocre one. Just take a look at your hammer spring and make sure it's in the correct orientation. A quick google search is all you need for a refresher on hammer springs.


I would rule out the easy stuff (like checking the hammer spring) before moving on to more complicated possibilities.

Dumb question, but is the hammer spring on backwards? They will work, for a while backwards, then the stop working intermitently.

I was going to ask the same question but then I saw the OP has a Giselle 2 stage. Not sure if the set up is the same as the usual hammersprings in the standard LPK?

Yeah, they use the same size/shape hammer springs as the milspec triggers.

Sounds like Perfecta is defecta.
Trying different ammo is always the first thing I do when encountering consistent light strikes.

what gun and caliber is this?

147 gr doesn't sound like a 5.56/.223

It’s a 308. I just checked my trigger and it’s installed correctly. Im gonna try another ammo brand and see if that corrects the issue. I contacted aero and they said perfecta is know for hard primers. I never researched it so don’t know if that’s correct
