    Muzzle Devices for AR 15

I'm looking to find some muzzle devices for a couple ARs. I've been running most of them bare threads for a while to avoid any fudgery with a comp.

What are some widely accepted compensators? I'm looking for ones that look like an A2 for a couple clones. I've been looking at the Cav Arms Comp.

I've seen the Aim Sports A2 Compensator, but that looks too close for an A2 imo.

"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

My order just shipped on Friday, so it appears they did a run and restocked some of the distributors. Go quick before there gone at the same nice price.
          I've seem them range $10 to $65.

I got more than 1and less than 10 as well. They arrived several days ago. Fit on the 5.56 was great, snug hand tight all the way to the crush washer /some people on the reviews complain about tread being little off, mine were perfect/. on the .308 Scar17 the brake was screwed little loose, almost no resistance all the way almost to the crush washer.
Go get them, $10 for a muzzl brake is a great deal!

There's about 100 different ones available from Brownell's or Midway.

For a clone build, there's not much left in terms of options. It's either closed end like previously posted or no slots at all.

Supposedly it's closed at the front like the AIM one shown above, but this one's extended and has the hole for pin/weld.

Surprised you were able to buy any muzzle device at all from Optics Planet and have it shipped to your CA address.

There are countless threads dating back to early 2016 about OP not selling muzzle devices to Californians.

These are listed as muzzle brake,
not flash suppressor. Not sure if the descript makes a difference to Kommiefoirnia?
They did tend to attempt to discourage my purchase. Between purchase and when they were available to ship, my cc used with them was compromised. Even though I went online and updated my OP account with a new card#, they made it painful. Even after emailing, they still requested I call and talk to a rep! Alll for giving away free shipping , as was the deal back on Nov. Calling and getting ahold of sommeone on the phone was hell. Push 2 for questions on existing orders was only hung up on as all reps were busy.

Why pin a break unless needed to achieve min barrel length

No idea why I had no problems with the orders /ordered one, then I ordered another several/. Both orders arrived in Optics Planed box strait to my house in Point Loma. Maybe I got lucky.

If your barrel is 16"+ there is no need for pinning.
Threaded barrel is not a feature for a rifle.
Pistols have bigger problems than a threaded barrel.
