Got it... I'll take 147 grain HST and +P to the range next.
..."sounds like bolts not getting enough force to cock the bolt". (mostly with heavier ammo)
I have American Eagle 124, 2x flavors of HST, Buffalo Bore, Win, Rem, Nato... I try to run some. not going to clean it or wet it, but I always have CLP and if I get failures I'll wet it down.Comment

Apparently the Volquartsen parts fit in the PCC trigger group. This guys says the trigger functions great...
I assume a Target trigger, hammer, sear would make a really light PCC trigger. I have a 10/22 like that but it'd be too light for this gun IMHO. I'll wait to see what options pop up this year. The stock trigger is good.

Instructor program?FYI - For anyone ordering this through the instructor program, I included a note to swap the standard capacity mag with a 10 round mag and Ruger shipped it (threaded barrel version) with a 10 round mag. Also, Ruger charged my card and shipped the rifle almost as soon as they received the paperwork.Comment

I am a NRA instructor and I logged into the site after seeing his comment and confirmed that I didn't see a Ruger discount listed.Comment

Not crazy about the CROSSFIRE lineup of Vortex glass, but I'll bet on the Crossfire tube RDS being good enough. New item at Cabela's and I had cards plus free rewards bucks so I got it for about $70 I think. Comes with both lower 1/3 and low mount so if for some reason it doesn't work out on the low mount / PCC I'll throw it on an AR22 or Sig 522.

I don't believe Ruger advertises their program on the NRA site. Ruger's program has been in operation for years.
"To assist certified NRA, Hunter Safety, Appleseed, 4-H, Scouting, and state instructors in their efforts to provide quality firearms safety training, Sturm, Ruger offers the following for purchase at a special discount"
Henry also has a very good program that doesn't seem advertised on the NRA site.
"We are pleased to enclose the new Henry Repeating Arms catalog and advise you of the special pricing program for instructors for 2018. We will continue to make our rifles available to instructors at these special prices in appreciation of the efforts you are making on behalf of firearms safety, our right to bear arms and the firearms industry."
Please contact the companies directly for details on their specific programs (and confidential price lists)Comment

The Crossfire 2 MOA RDS looks good. Controls feel decent, and brightness of the dot is great. Mounts should be fine. Trying to decide if I just save this for my PC Carbine or try it on my Mossberg 930 and steal its FF3 again. Already removed the lower 1/3 mount and loctited the low mount in place.Comment

What kind of mount does your 930 have? I tried to find one like JM uses, but no luck finding it.Comment

I have the $7.99 Weaver brand rail from Midway USA. Works on 500 and 930 - I think it is labeled as a 500 rail.
It is back in stock too.

SO far a few people in another forum have chimed in with reports that 124 grain and 147 grain ammo runs perfect for them in their new PCC's... including a couple reports of light handloaded and one guy running hundreds of rounds of HST 147 grain standard so far... FWIW.
For hand loaders here's one recipe:
"I run handloaded 147gr copper plated RN w/ .3 cc Lee Dipper of Accurate #5, 1.55 OAL and 855 fps. in my PCC, no issues. Low recoil."Comment
